About This Game

Animal Obby is an obstacle course platformer where the stages take the form of large animals built out of platforms and hazards. You jump, dodge, and navigate your way from the bottom to the top of each course. The presentation is colourful and relaxed. The later courses are less forgiving than that presentation suggests.

How It Plays

You control a small character through each course using jump and directional movement. Most of the skill comes from reading platforms carefully before jumping, since the visual design sometimes makes distances look shorter or safer than they are. Falling sends you back to the last checkpoint rather than the very start, which keeps restarts from becoming punishing. The hazards change across courses: some stages have moving platforms, some have gaps that appear without warning, some require precise timing that early stages did not prepare you for.

What to Expect

The opening courses go quickly and feel like a warm-up. The difficulty steps up around the middle of the game, and a few courses later most players will spend noticeably more time per stage. A run through a single course takes a few minutes at most when things go well; tricky stages can stretch to ten or fifteen attempts before the right line clicks. Sessions feel complete at the end of a course, so there is a natural moment to stop without leaving anything unfinished.

Who It’s For

Animal Obby works well for players who enjoy platforming and are comfortable with repeated attempts on the same section. The cheerful animal theme makes it approachable, so it is a reasonable choice for younger players on the earlier stages. The later stages require patience and some precision, which makes this a poor fit for anyone who finds repeated falling frustrating. Players who bounce off of obstacle-course style games generally will find nothing here to change their view of the format.

About This Game

The game uses checkpoints within each course, so a fall sends you back to the last checkpoint rather than the start of the whole stage. This makes the harder sections less punishing to attempt multiple times.
Noticeably harder than the opening stages. The game ramps up gradually, but by the middle and later courses you will likely need multiple attempts per section rather than clearing them on your first run.
Each course is styled around a different animal, with the platforms and layout designed to evoke that animal’s shape when viewed from above or from the side. The specific animals vary by stage.
